What hypnosis is used for in 30 seconds or less
People are always asking me, what can hypnosis be used
for? At first, I would spout off a list of different issues that hypnosis can
by used for such as losing weight, quitting smoker and the like. However, that
really didn’t provide me with what sales people like to call the 30 second
elevator speech, that quick sentence or two that gets to the heart of the issue
without boring the client too much. So here’s my 30 second elevator speech on
what hypnosis can be used for.
Hypnosis is used to get rid of what you don’t like, to get
more of what you do like, and to find out more about what makes you tick.
That’s it in a nutshell.
If I’m losing weight, I’m getting rid of something I don’t
like. The same is true if I stop smoking or get rid of feelings of grief or
anger. This is the category that is most associated with hypnosis.
On the other side of the coin, when I get a boost of
self-confidence or self-esteem, I’m getting more of something I do want. The
same thing is true when I use hypnosis to become better at sports. All of these
are examples of hypnotic uses that fall into the “I want more” category. If you want to think of it this way, the “I want more” category is the self-improvement category.
The last phrase of the elevator speech, “and to find out
more about you”, represents the newest use of hypnosis. Hypnotists are now
working with clients to help them gain a better understanding of who they really
are and what their purpose in life is. In my opinion, it’s the most fascinating
area of hypnosis today.
So there you have it, a very brief elevator speech on what
hypnosis can be used for.
